The short version
- We collect what you type in at sign-up, to set up your venue and bill your subscription.
- Stripe handles card details. We never see or store your card number.
- Your guests’ names and scores stay on your own front-desk computer.
- We don’t sell your information. Only if you click “Accept”, our website uses Meta cookies for our Facebook and Instagram ads.
The summary is here to help. The full policy below is what applies.
About this policy
Nitro Axe is run by 102190362 Saskatchewan Ltd., operating as District 306 and Nitro Axe, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada (“we”). This policy explains what we collect when a venue signs up for and uses Nitro Axe, and what we do with it. We follow Canada’s privacy law for businesses (PIPEDA).
What we collect
- When you sign up: the owner’s name, email and phone; your venue’s name, city, country, time zone and currency; how many lanes and projectors you have and which computers you use; your logo, colours and prices; your plan; and anything you write in the notes.
- Payment: Stripe takes your card details and handles payments. We never see or store your full card number; we keep a record of your subscription (its status and Stripe’s customer and subscription IDs).
- Basic technical information: the country and internet address a sign-up came from, used to stop spam and abuse. The desktop app contacts nitroaxe.com to look up your venue code, check your subscription and check for updates.
- Advertising cookies, only if you accept them: which of our website’s pages you visit and what you do there, such as starting sign-up (see Advertising and cookies).
- Emails you send us.
What stays at your venue
The games, scores, player names and lane bookings run on your own front-desk computer and your venue’s network. Nitro Axe doesn’t send your guests’ names or scores to us.
How we use it
- to set up your venue, run the Service and send your venue code and setup guide;
- to bill your subscription;
- to help you when you contact us, and to tell you about updates, changes to your plan or these policies;
- to keep the Service and our website secure.
We don’t sell your information. We advertise Nitro Axe on Facebook and Instagram only as described in Advertising and cookies.
Advertising and cookies
We advertise Nitro Axe to axe-throwing venues on Facebook and Instagram. To do that, our website can use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, Inc. When you first visit we ask with a banner, and the pixel only runs if you click “Accept”.
- What it collects: the pages of our website you visit (the home page, sign-up, these terms and this policy), actions such as starting sign-up and the plan you chose, and technical details Meta collects with its cookies, such as your internet address and browser.
- Why: to show our ads to people who have visited our website, to see which ads work, and to find similar businesses that might like Nitro Axe.
- What it doesn’t get: the details you type into the sign-up form (your name, email, phone or logo) aren’t sent through the pixel, and it never runs on your setup guide, the download page or any page that shows your venue code.
- Meta’s use: Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy, and may link it to a Facebook or Instagram account you’re signed in to.
- Email audiences: we may give Meta a scrambled (hashed) list of the business email addresses of our customers and of venues we’ve been in touch with, so it can show our ads to them, or stop showing sign-up ads to people who are already customers. Meta uses the list only to match it to accounts and then deletes it. If you’d rather not be included, email us and we’ll leave you out.
Your choices: click “No thanks” on the banner, or change your mind any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of our pages. You can also clear cookies in your browser, and set what ads you see in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences.
Apart from advertising, our sign-up form keeps your unfinished answers in your own browser until you send them, so you can come back to them. That stays on your device.
How long we keep it
While you’re a customer, and afterwards for as long as we need it for our records, taxes and the law (usually up to 7 years for billing records). Sign-ups that never finish payment are deleted after about 90 days.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by emailing [email protected]. If you’re not happy with how we’ve handled your information, please tell us; you can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll update the date above and email customers.
